Each PC or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program that interacts with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, and any apps that are present on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a web server, each app runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This goes for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two independent Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, which means that you can set up a different software environment on the same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer you three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the safest and the most reliable OSs out there and we provide all three of them instead of only 1 since we realize that you may want to set up some software which has specific requirements for the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a huge support community behind it and there're various software programs you can install on the server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS in case you wish to use one and for this reason we offer multiple Control Panels too. If you ever decide that you need a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the existing one and install the one that you need. We also offer an optional service to have the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers that we offer can be set up with as many as 3 different Operating Systems because we want to give you more flexible solutions which will permit you to install and run any type of web software whatever its system requirements. The choices are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these 3 OSs are among the most reliable and risk-free ones, not mentioning that they don't have any license charges. All three have thousands of developers who have created numerous software packages that you could install and use on your web hosting server. We also offer three internet hosting Control Panels and which one you can use will depend on the Operating System that you select when you register. In case you need another OS later, it will not be a problem since we can always reinstall your machine. With our Managed Services package we can also keep your OS secure by upgrading it every week with all patches that are released for it.
